Denver Recovery Center Review
Located in the Broomfield suburb of Denver, Colorado, Denver Recovery Center is a facility that treats alcohol and substance use disorders. The team here fosters a mind-body-spirit approach to care that utilizes individualized treatment strategies designed to address the unique needs of each individual. It’s worth mentioning, the 12-step recovery model is an integral component of the curriculum.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients go through an extensive evaluation that helps determine the best possible individualized care plan tailored to meet the unique needs, goals and circumstances of the person. The assessment includes medical and psychological exams as well as a complete history of substance use. When necessary, clients are referred to a partnering detox program in the area. Upon completion of detox, individuals begin either the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
The outpatient programming is ideal for individuals either transitioning out of residential care back into regular life, or for clients that require consistent therapy but cannot make the commitment to an inpatient program. The PHP runs between 9 am and 3 pm on weekdays. The IOP runs three days a week, either in the mornings or evenings. This allows clients to benefit from consistent therapy without having to take time off of work or school.
Clients engage in individual and group therapy sessions rooted in CBT, DBT and EMDR to treat trauma as a cause of current conditions. Therapists also use exposure therapy to help clients overcome anxiety. Psychoeducation classes cover important topics like nutrition and the disease of addiction as well as stress and anger management. Denver Recovery understands the value of family involvement in the success of a sustainable recovery. To this end, the facility provides educational programs as well as family therapy to improve communication, understanding and foster growth. Clients also participate in regular 12-step meetings.
The multidisciplinary team is made up of addiction specialists, mental health counselors, therapists and a physician. Medication management is offered for individuals in need of dual diagnosis support.
Clients in PHP live in sponsored housing.
Denver Recovery Center offers a scholarship program.
Holistic methods include yoga, mindfulness meditation, creative visualization and breath work. Because the facility believes in the importance of spending time in nature, clients participate in a range of experiential outdoor therapies such as hiking and rock climbing.
Denver Recovery Center is a top notch treatment facility that provides comprehensive outpatient programming for individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring illnesses. The facility incorporates evidence-based and holistic methods as well as complementary experiential activities, gender-specific tracks and life skills training. For anyone seeking an excellent team, a robust curriculum and superior resources, Denver Recovery Center is a great resource.
