rochester new yorkDelphi Drug and Alcohol Council Review

Located in Rochester, New York, Delphi Drug and Alcohol Council provides low intensity outpatient treatment for substance abuse. All care plans are individualized and available to both adults and adolescents. Services always include group therapy, with individual therapy used on a case-by-case basis. Through evidence-based practices, clients have the opportunity to identify and change their negative thinking patterns and behaviors.

Treatment and Staff

Prior to beginning treatment at Delphi Drug and Alcohol Council, each client must undergo an initial assessment. Referrals come from the criminal justice system, school districts and parents, though clients can also be self-referred. Detox and residential care are not available.

Group therapy is offered twice a week and runs for an hour and a half per session. Depending on how severe a client’s issues are, the number of groups attended per week may vary. Topics generally include relapse prevention, life skills, coping mechanisms and emotional processing. Treatment relies primarily on CBT.

In addition to group sessions, individual therapy can also be scheduled as needed. These hour-long meetings can create a space to explore private issues and grant clients more one-on-one attention. Delphi Drug and Alcohol Council’s staff consists primarily of LADCs, with groups maxing out at 15 clients.

There is no set length to programming at Delphi. Outpatient help can be sought on an ongoing basis. Additionally, while 12-step recovery is not facilitated on-site, counselors encourage clients to explore AA/NA meetings in the community for added support in sobriety.

Extras

In addition to the above, Delphi also offers a domestic violence and abuse course for men. Those enrolled in this dual-intervention program are required to complete 26 sessions on domestic violence. In addition, clients are evaluated for substance abuse or chemical dependency and must remain abstinent throughout the program.

The facility also offers re-entry services to those transitioning from jail back into the community. Case managers work with clients individually, assisting with areas such as housing, treatment and employment. Group and individual counseling services are available using both CBT and trauma-informed care.

In Summary

While Delphi Drug and Alcohol Council offers fairly basic outpatient services for drug and alcohol abuse, the facility still provides evidence-based therapy and all the necessary tools to get sober. Thanks to small groups and individualized attention, each person receives the care he or she needs. In all, Delphi Drug and Alcohol Council is a good choice for those seeking an affordable and flexible recovery program in Rochester, New York.
