Daymark Recovery Services Outpatient Review
North Carolina’s Daymark Recovery Services operates several facilities throughout the state. They offer a variety of mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis programs for adolescents and adults. The outpatient program is available in all locations (with the exception of the residential facility) with treatment tracks for all ages. Outpatient treatment includes assessments and evaluations, group therapy, individual therapy, and medication management. Above all, Daymark Recovery Services’ philosophy is to empower clients in their recovery through an array of valuable life skills, education and therapy.
Treatment and Staff
Most of the facilities throughout the state provide outpatient care Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with some agencies staying open as late as 8 pm. It’s worth noting, Daymark also sets up programming within their communities in order to be more accessible to a wider range of clientele. Perhaps most noteworthy, the outpatient programs are available to clients as young as three years old and up.
Group sessions offer gender-specific options, as well as groups that solely focus on mental health issues, education and recovery.
Therapy sessions utilize evidence-based treatment models, such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), the Matrix Model, and Seeking Safety. However, the staff at Daymark have the qualifications to adjust their approaches depending on the client’s needs.
The initial assessment determines what kind of group or program each individual qualifies for. For younger clients, family services, including counseling and parent support, are available. The clinical team encourages clients dealing with substance abuse issues to participate in support meetings within the community, like AA or NA. There are also referrals to outside agencies and resources readily available to all clients and their families.
In terms of staff, LPCs, LCSWs, psychiatrists, nurses and peer support specialists facilitate all the outpatient programming.
Extras
In addition to standard outpatient services, Daymark also has emergency and crisis programming options. This includes a mobile crisis program, and specialized outpatient care for seniors and pregnant women.
In Summary
The outpatient programs are person centered and culturally sensitive. As a result, the holistic approaches assess each client as an individual, and not as their mental illness. The programming is comprehensive It provides outside assistance and referrals with the intention of creating a strong foundation in recovery for clients and family members.
