Rules and Regulations

DAWNS House exclusively serves women who have undergone at least 30 days of primary care or criminal justice clients transitioning from jail. The women receive individualized recovery plans upon acceptance into the home. They are encouraged to stay a minimum of six months. Clients are subject to random drug and alcohol testing. The facility practices a zero tolerance policy and evicts those who test positive immediately.

For the first 30 days, residents undergo a black out period. The curfew is 9:30 pm seven days a week. Women must find a job during this time or pursue an academic education. Community service is also encouraged. After 30 days, the curfew is midnight seven days a week. Other requirements include attending three weekly 12-step meetings, being at the house meeting and working with a sponsor. The live-in manager serves as both spiritual mentor, and life coach.

Extras

Those requiring aftercare are provided with referrals to local outpatient facilities. Other services provided include vocational and educational guidance.

As a 501c(3) non-profit facility, DAWNS House relies on donations from the community to keep the house running.

  1. Dawns house would be a great sober living home maybe.. if dawn herself would actually try to work the same or really any program at all. This home is built on a crumbling foundation that could fall out at any moment and I truly feel bad for the women who live in this house. Dawn is one of the most selfish people I have ever met. She is all about the money and unfortunate for her it reflects harshly in her interactions with those around her. Childish is the word I would best use to describe her. She as stated refuses to go to meetings or work on her own recovery and as us in recovery know all too well if you don’t work on your recovery and put it first and foremost you will lose everything. She may go to about one meeting per month just to save face or ask for donations. Even her own sponsor has asked her several times to attend more meetings which she just simply will not do. Those of us that take our recovery seriously know that dawns house is the laughing stock of Bend, Oregon and most of the women move out shortly after moving in because of dawn and the way that she tries to control the women in areas of their lives that is not necessary. This sober home is an absolute last resort option…

I used to live at the dawns house. She saved me from total desperation and gave me hope. She was there for me abd helped me when i didnt think anyone would. That house gave me stability and and safe roof over my head.
