Clearpath Review

Based out of Los Angeles, California, Clearpath is an all-male sober living located near the upscale neighborhood of Beverly Hills. The facility itself is a luxurious, private home centrally located to transportation and a number of Los Angeles landmarks. Residents who attend can take advantage of a balanced curriculum that allows both freedom and structure.

Accommodations and Amenities

The residence is a modern, Tudor-style home with a total of 14 beds available. Clients typically range from 20 to 41 years old, and rooms are shared between two people. Bedrooms come with full beds, plush comforters, end tables, dressers and shared closet space. The home also features comfortable living room areas with couches, a dining room area, an expansive kitchen, an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, a sundeck and an attached guest house. Throughout their stay, residents cook and prepare their own meals.

Rules and Regulations

Like many sober livings, all clients are required to be active for a minimum 20 hours a week, though that requirement increases as they take on more responsibility and progress through the program. Those hours can be met by volunteering, going to school, attending outpatient treatment or working a job. Residents are also required to attend five AA/NA meetings a week, two of which need to be men’s stag meetings. All clients are also expected to exercise five hours a week.

Though the curriculum is relatively structured, residents are still allowed freedom to come and go as they please. All clients must stay for a minimum of 30 days, though it takes a full six months to complete Clearpath’s entire recommended curriculum. Residents are also welcome to stay longer than six months whenever necessary. Some group programming is also provided which may include life skills sessions, vocational skills, healthy relationship discussions, resume building workshops and other practical, educational topics.

Extras

Clearpath organizes off-site recreational trips for the residents including rock climbing, hiking, surfing, boxing classes, yoga lessons and camping trips. The house itself is also located near many Los Angeles landmarks, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

In Summary

In all, Clearpath is a luxurious sober living in the heart of Los Angeles that offers a structured safe haven for men in early recovery. Though the facility is self-pay only, those who attend can take advantage of in-house groups, life skills workshops, off-site trips and the camaraderie of an all-male sober home. While it is somewhat more expensive than less hands-on sober living facilities, Clearpath provides a well-rounded experience definitely worth considering for those in the area.
