CenterStone Community Wellness Review
Based out of Plainfield, New Jersey, CenterStone Community Wellness is a non-profit behavioral health organization that provides affordable outpatient care to the residents of northern New Jersey. Though founded in 1944 as a children’s guidance facility, it has since expanded to provide extensive treatment to adults and adolescents for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders—open to both self-referred and court-ordered clients.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment, clients work with staff to develop an individualized treatment plan involving individual, group and family therapy. Treatment employs evidence-based practices practices such as CBT and DBT. Though the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is the standard route, there is also a track similar to a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) designed for clients with more severe mental illnesses. Medication management is also available. While 12-step participation is not a requirement of the program, clients are encouraged to attend off-site meetings if they wish.
Staff consists of LPCs, LCSWs, RNs, LACs, MDs and other Master’s and PhD-level clinicians.
Extras
Additionally, CenterStone works with local hospitals and state authorities to help clients find treatment, including those sentenced through drug court or who are on parole. Case management, psychiatric evaluations and educational groups on variety of rotating topics are also available.
