The Basics
Located in Lakewood, New Jersey, The Center is an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility that offers a range of programs in varying intensities. Founded in 1999, The Center has general outpatient services with a partial care program as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), both of which provide support for co-occurring disorders.
Treatment and Staff
To qualify, clients must be at least 18 years old and be struggling with a mental health or addiction disorder that merits the intensity of a day treatment program. Clients undergo an initial intake and psychiatric assessment upon arrival.
Treatment plans are individualized and work within the structure of individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices such as CBT and psycho-education. Groups address mindfulness, anger management, gender-specific care, social skills and relapse prevention. Participation in regular 12-step meetings and drug testing is also required. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for clients coming off of opiates and medication management is available for clients requiring support for dual diagnosis.
Staff consists of LCSWs, psychiatrists, RNs and MICA specialists.
Extras
If more intensive treatment is recommended, The Center refers clients to residential programs. It also has a number of case managers and administrative assistants on staff who handle Medicaid eligibility, transportation and other services.
For those attending any of the above day programs, meals and snacks are provided. Pre-vocational education sessions and family therapy are also available.

The Center is a traditional treatment facility with a number of flexible outpatient programs that can also cater to clients suffering from a dual diagnosis. Individualized plans use evidence-based modalities and 12-step support while also offering MAT making it a valuable community resource.
