Catholic Family Center Review
The Catholic Family Center opened its doors in 1988 with the purpose of aiding in the treatment of substance abuse and addiction, along with many other services. The Catholic Family Center, or CFC, is located in Rochester, New York, and serves approximately 33,000 people in Monroe and Wayne counties each year. The CFC offers an outpatient substance abuse treatment program at its Restart Outpatient Clinic. The programs offered at Restart Outpatient Clinic are designed to empower individuals and families effected by drug and alcohol addiction, increase dignity, and develop skills to achieve independence and a drug-free lifestyle.
Treatment and Staff
Restart Outpatient Clinic offers a variety of services to its clients. The program uses a Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) to help clients understand the benefits of changing their current substance use, and then design an individualized plan of treatment. This includes an evaluation for chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. After the assessment, clients are offered integrated treatment which includes individual, group and family therapy. There is on-site access to a variety of support groups, namely NA and AA as well as peer-led support groups for individuals and families. Clients also have access to mental health evaluations and medication management in collaboration with CFC’s Mental Health Clinic. Also offered is medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using Suboxone.
The staff at Restart Outpatient Clinic specializes in meeting the cultural needs of the clients and is comprised of CADCs, CASACs and LCSWs. All employees are dedicated to improving and enhancing the lives of those they serve.
Extras
Additional services provided include parenting classes and support, trauma treatment, and vocational and educational development. Pre-GED education sessions are also available. The program also provides case management services for clients with needs such as housing, child care and medical services. Treatment of all kinds is also available in Spanish.
