Salus Withnell Hall is a detox and residential program in partnership with CAIS, which operates a handful of treatment facilities in the UK. Salus Withnell Hall offers upscale accommodations and medically managed detox for adults, align with an individualized treatment plan for each person. Clients address their physical, psychological and social needs while learning valuable life skills in a very supportive environment.
Accommodations and Food
Salus Withnell Hall is set on over 14 acres in the northwest region of the UK. The grounds are private, quiet and peaceful. Clients in the detox program have a private bedroom and en suite bathroom. This level of care can accommodate up to 13 clients. Once in the residential track, clients share nine bedrooms and bathrooms that are located on each floor. The home-like facility is very spacious and divided into two sections—living quarters and the treatment wing.
The treatment side has meetings spaces, offices and group rooms. There is a large day room with a computer that clients have access to, a health and well-being suite with exercise equipment.
Residents also enjoy a fully stocked catering kitchen. All the meals are prepared on-site by staff and served three times a day. There are also several snacks and tea times.
Treatment and Staff
New clients have a thorough physical and psychological assessment. Then the team tailors a treatment plan that is customized to their needs. Typically the detox process takes a minimum of seven days for alcohol and much longer for opiates. Detox clients have the option to continue on to the residential program, or find an outpatient program elsewhere. If they do opt to do the full program at Salus Withnell Hall, clients usually stay anywhere from three weeks to six months.
During residential treatment clients attend several group sessions per day and frequent individual sessions during the week. They can also expect relapse prevention and coping skills training. Programming is not based on the 12 steps, however the facility encourages clients to pursue any avenue that would help in their recovery. Therapeutic approaches include evidence-based practices such as CBT and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET).
Salus Withnell Hall always has a doctor or nurse on hand 24 hours a day, and addiction specialists lead the group sessions. Dual diagnosis support is available.
Extras
Clients exercise several times during the week, both on site in the gym and in a group setting. There are also several holistic and expressive therapies offered throughout treatment including art and music therapy.
While residents are permitted to bring their cell phones, there are some restrictions put on them.
