Bi-Valley Medical Clinic operates two outpatient facilities in the cities of Sacramento and Carmichael, California, providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to help individuals who wish to recover from opiate addiction. Treatment and Staff
A local pioneer in the use of Suboxone therapy, Bi-Valley Medical Clinic offers short- and long-term treatment. They take pride in helping pregnant women, criminal offenders and clients with co-occurring disorders reach sobriety. The clinic’s medical director, Dr. John J. McCarthy, has been studying methadone maintenance during pregnancy for over 20 years and is considered an expert in his field.
Bi-Valley Medical Clinic’s programs include a 30-day Suboxone/Subutex detoxification, Subutex/Suboxone maintenance, a 21-day methadone detox, a 180-day methadone detox and methadone maintenance. Some clients complete the detox programs in these designated time frames, but recovery time may vary depending on individual needs. Individual counselors are assigned to each client. Both facilities begin operating at 6:30 am, Monday through Friday. Payment is accepted in the form of Medi-Cal and a sliding scale is provided for those with private pay.
At both clinics, multidisciplinary treatment teams including physicians and nursing staff, social workers, and certified addiction counselors provide a high level of care.
Extras
Bi-Valley Medical Clinic provides free monthly art therapy sessions for clients and their families. They collaborate to create murals or large-scale paintings as well as small individual sculptures, carvings and other projects. Participants represent all ages, cultures and backgrounds. Each year, Bi-Valley Medical Clinic hosts an art fair, where the artists display their creations.
