Avenues Recovery Pennsylvania Outpatient Review
Avenues Recovery Center in Jamison, Pennsylvania offers several level of outpatient care as a follow up to its 90 day residential track. Treatment includes a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and standard, step-down outpatient treatment. The outpatient program incorporates evidence-based therapies and 12-step support for those who are struggling with with the downfalls of addiction and co-occurring disorders.
Treatment and Staff
The PHP is considered an alternative treatment option to Avenues’ inpatient program. Many of the activities and therapeutic experiences are similar to what clients would participate in during the residential track. Clients go to treatment five days a week for five hours per day during the PHP. The days are structured with group and individual therapy, holistic therapies and recreation. During this level of care clients receive free transportation to and from the facility.
Clients who step down to the IOP from either the residential program or PHP partake in up to three to four hours of treatment, three times per week. This stage of treatment is ideal for clients to be able to work and spend time with their families, as the IOP is fairly flexible in terms of treatment hours and days.
The OP is basically a maintenance program for clients to attend either a group or individual therapy once per week for as long as they need it.
Every stage in the outpatient program is customized to address each client’s needs, and includes relapse prevention, leadership training and a focus on communication. Treatment approaches include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care practices, and substance abuse counseling and education. There are also three gender-specific groups per week during the PHP.
In addition to therapy, clients can receive Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), medication management for co-occurring disorders, and life skills training, include money management and career guidance.
Avenues staff consists of Master’s-level therapists who are LPC, LCSW, CADC, psychiatrists, case managers and a full time physician.
Extras
Avenues treats the disease of addiction as a family disease. As a result, clients and their loved ones get therapy and guidance throughout every level of the outpatient program.
Finally, clients who are in the PHP get a gym membership, and have yoga and meditation classes.

Avenues offers a comprehensive outpatient program that works for those who have gone through the residential stage of treatment, and of those who are not able to be away from their families for an inpatient program, but need support and help with their addictions in a professional setting.
