Atlantic Prevention Resources Review
Atlantic Prevention Resources is a non-profit outpatient agency located in Pleasantville, New Jersey. The organization was licensed by the state in 2008 by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Using evidence based methods, APR provides a variety of services including substance abuse prevention, education, intervention, counseling and referrals for men and women with substance abuse and addiction issues. APR provides case management services including coordination with courts, referrals and follow up sessions.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at APR begins with an assessment which enables staff to create an individualized treatment plan for each client depending on their recovery needs. These treatment plans allow each client to have a tailored experience with the most fitting combination of individual and group therapy. Clients work with assigned therapists to arrange treatment schedules that work with their home and work obligations. The program also incorporates the 12-step program and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
The staff is composed of a physician, psychologist and CBT-certified counselors.
Extras
Besides counseling, APR utilizes mediation to treat clients holistically—engaging the mind, body and spirit in recovery. APR also provides education presentations to inform the public on subjects related to alcohol and other drugs through community and school programs. Topics may include subjects such as the basics of alcoholism and drug addiction, the recovery process, family issues, social and community issues, health related matters, bullying and public policy.
Aftercare is available for clients wishing to maintain their connection with APR and their primary counselor after completion of treatment.
