Aspiring Minds Clinic Review

Situated in the San Fernando Valley 25 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, Aspiring Minds Clinic is a treatment facility that provides outpatient care. Services include neuropsychological evaluations, psychotherapy, cognitive testing and consultations for children, adolescent and adult clients. Aspiring Minds is the office of Dr. Ludmila Zaytsev, a clinical neuropsychologist who also serves as a staff neuropsychologist at a local medical center where she specializes in evaluating infants, children and adolescents dealing with neurological issues. These include learning, attention, developmental concerns, autism spectrum and social problems.

Treatment and Staff

Aspiring Minds provides neuropsychological evaluations for children for a variety of reasons. Typically it is when children are struggling academically, socially, or behaviorally, or some combination of these. In some cases, Dr. Zaytsev performs cognitive evaluations for children with moderate to severe medical conditions including head injuries or epilepsy.

While Aspiring Minds does not endorse any specific brand of therapy or philosophy, Dr. Zaytsev utilizes a biopsychosocial and spiritual approach when evaluating clients. Before beginning treatment, clients undergo a phone consultation with Dr. Zaytsev and then an in-person assessment. This evaluation covers the client’s medical history as well as the history of the condition. This helps Dr. Zaytsev create an individualized treatment plan. In the case of children and adolescents, both the child as well as their parent are involved in the evaluation, which includes cognition testing and a communication skills analysis, as well as testimony from parents and teachers. Afterwards, Dr. Zaytsev presents a diagnostic report complete with a treatment plan and any necessary referrals for the most effective situation to meet the client’s specific needs.

Aspiring Minds also offers psychotherapy services for a wide range of conditions and situations including mental illnesses like clinical depression, panic and anxiety disorders as well as anger management and major life events such as losing a loved one. In addition, Dr. Zatsey performs psychotherapy to help clients with their relationships or in work or parenting, as well as behavior modification for individuals with OCD, phobias, stress management and impulse control issues.

Dr. Zaytsev is a clinical psychologist. Dr. Zaytsev can provide treatment and assessments in Russian, as she is bilingual. For clients in need of medication management, Dr. Zaytsev can make referrals to a psychiatrist or physician.

Extras

The facility provides play therapy for young children with emotional and behavioral problems that cannot yet express unsolved issues. Dr. Zaytsev advocates play therapy to help children figure out and express their own emotions.

Aspiring Minds offers cognitive testing for children applying to gifted or special education programs, and for adult clients working towards college and graduate school entrance exams.

In Summary

Aspiring Minds Clinic is an outpatient facility that specializes in neuropsychological evaluations, cognitive testing and consultations for children, as well as psychotherapy for adults. Dr. Zaytsev provides comprehensive evaluations with referrals as well as individualized treatment plans for clients struggling with mental illnesses and developmental disorders. She is also experienced with psychotherapy for individuals, groups, families and couples. For clients seeking a reputable and experienced facility for cognitive testing and psychotherapy, Aspiring Minds is a great resource.
