Treatment and Staff
The staff at Alcott Center is comprised of a number of highly experienced therapists and psychiatrists, who are available for medical evaluation and ongoing treatment. Each client at Alcott Center can expect a treatment plan that is appropriate to their individual needs, and treatment plans may include group, individual and family therapy. Treatment for dual diagnosis is available at Alcott Center, and staff is well versed in the process of working with individuals struggling with addiction in addition to other mental health issues. Staff at Alcott Center may use a number of modes of treatment to treat dual diagnosis, including CBT.
Although Alcott Center does not host 12-step meetings, it does offer service coordination, and life skills education, designed to help individuals working to put together a feasible life plan as they recover from addiction or other mental illness.The Alcott Center’s 14-week Community Living Program reflects this focus on independence, and helps clients cull the skills they need to perform tasks like cleaning, cooking, and managing a budget, as well as correctly administering psychiatric medications.

Alcott Center is known for its Studio Arts program, which has given a number of talented artists the opportunity to work through their mental illness by way of expressing themselves through visual art. Many artists with severe mental illnesses have found a wonderful platform for their work in the program, which helps showcase client’s work to patrons and art enthusiasts. Workshops are all led by a professional art instructor, and offered to clients at no charge.
