john devoreWriter and editor John DeVore was a great drunk, as I learned first-hand when I logged many (sober) hours with him while he was still boozing and we were both living in New York. Now sober over three years and settled in Los Angeles, the former Maxim writer/editor/radio host and I discussed the difference between drunks and alcoholics, how he once saw how bored I looked at a party, what a really famous architect had to say about LA and so much more. You can listen to the interview here and download any previous podcasts from the AfterPartyPod site.

  1. What I found most interesting about this was DeVore’s lack of bad parents or a history of alcoholism or addiction that ran in his family. He became an alcoholic through his professional career and surroundings and choices he made within that.
