Spokane WashingtonAcadia: Spokane Comprehensive Treatment Center Review

The Spokane Comprehensive Treatment Center opened in Eastern Washington in 2011 to provide the Spokane community with basic outpatient treatment and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for adults struggling with opioid addiction. The SCTC does not employ the 12-step modality in its treatment approach, but clients participate in both group and individual therapy that uses evidence-based methods.

As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, the Spokane Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.

Treatment and Staff

Spokane Comprehensive Treatment Center’s MAT is available to clients over 18 years with both methadone and Subutex prescribed. Clients are expected to attend a minimum of one group and one individual session per week in order to qualify for their medication. Clients work with an assigned counselor and are treated by an on-site medical doctor and registered nurses. The frequency of sessions depends on each client’s unique needs as does length of treatment. Schedules are individualized and include work on recovery and healthy coping skills, relapse prevention, planning for aftercare and setting personal goals. Treatment hours are Monday through Friday from 5 to 11:30 am, Saturdays from 6:30 to 9:30 am and the facility is closed on Sundays.

Spokane CTC staff includes Licensed Substance Abuse Counselors (LSACs), a medical doctor and a number of nurses.

In Summary

For just over five years, the Spokane Comprehensive Treatment Center has provided Eastern Washington with basic outpatient services and MAT. With a required minimum hours of treatment to qualify for medication, clients are supported through the physical, mental and emotional aspects of recovery. As part of their individualized treatment plans, clients learn relapse prevention and life skills to support lasting recovery.
