Oasis Behavioral Health is a treatment facility located in Chandler, Arizona. Started in 1987 by a young entrepreneur and his wife, its founding principles were based on an effort to create a program designed for youth who were struggling with mental health and chemical dependency. Over the years, Oasis Behavioral Health evolved to also include services for adults. Outpatient services for youth and adults are available as a step-down service or a stand-alone track. The facility is CARF-accredited and certified by the Joint Commission.

As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Oasis Behavioral Health is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.

Treatment and Staff

Oasis Behavioral Health uses a wide range of treatment approaches in their Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The treatment staff understands that all clients, based on their assessment, will respond better to different methods. In addition to CBT techniques, Oasis Behavioral Health staff incorporate the Living in Balance program to assist clients struggling with chemical dependency. This Hazelden track uses psychoeducation to help inform their clients of the addiction process, relapse prevention techniques and more.

Clients attend group therapy and individual therapy to work closer towards their recovery from active addiction. Groups are scheduled three times per week, while individual sessions are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

An executive team of Master’s-level practitioners oversee a team of CADCs. Counselors lead role-play exercises, workbook assignments and relaxation techniques during sessions. These sessions are dedicated to rebuilding each client after prolonged periods of addiction, with focus on a holistic level. Counselors help to develop daily living skills, coping skills and mindfulness in each client to the best of their ability.

The adolescent program is developed for youth between the ages of 11 and 17, and the adult program is for clients 18 and above. Each program is slightly varied to be relevant to the client age group. Young female clients may choose to enroll in the Girls Prevention and Stabilization IOP, a track designed to address the specific issues that young girls who abuse substances as a result of trauma and abuse.

Clients are also encouraged to attend 12-step meetings to build a recovery network of peers. The immersive program ensures that all options and health related issues are covered. Clients receive health education, nutrition and sexual health information. Clients are also taught to self-assess and be tuned into their needs therefore setting goals for self-improvement and wellness. The Oasis Behavioral Health team believes that each client has the power to intervene on their own behalf to prevent relapse and continue their path to wellness.

Extras

There is not a specific family program available at Oasis Behavioral Health, but parents and support members are encouraged to attend a weekly family dinner. Family therapy is available as-needed. Clients also come together for recreational therapy activities to build strong bonds as a group and create positive memories.
