Acadia: Huntington Comprehensive Treatment Center Review
Founded in 2001, Huntington Comprehensive Treatment Center of Huntington, West Virginia provides Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and basic outpatient substance abuse treatment services for individuals struggling with opiate addiction. Huntington CTC does not incorporate the 12-step framework, but does ask clients to participate in both individual and group therapy to support the mental and emotional aspects of recovery.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Huntington Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
Huntington CTC provides MAT for adult clients, combining prescriptions with therapy in both the group and individual varieties. Medication which may be prescribed for treatment include Subutex, Suboxone and methadone. Clients are required to participate in group and individual sessions at a minimum of once weekly, working with a counselor who is assigned to them upon admission. Treatment programs are completely individualized, and duration is dependent upon each client’s needs.
Through the course of treatment, clients may set personal goals, take recovery skills classes, learn and practice healthy coping skills and plan for their own aftercare. A typical treatment day at HCTC Schedule runs from 5 am to 1 pm (Monday through Friday). On weekends, treatment is available 6 to 9:45 am on Saturdays and Sundays from 6 to 8:45 am.
Huntington CTC employs a medical doctor, registered nurses and a number of Licensed Substance Abuse Counselors (LSACs).
