The Basics
Westside Treatment in Los Angeles, California, is an outpatient substance abuse treatment program. Founded in 2014, the organization offers a full continuum of care for men and women struggling from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Westside has three outpatient tracks: a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and basic outpatient care. Treatment and Staff
The PHP is designed for clients who are classified as stable but still need a lot of structure. Typically, the PHP meets eight hours a day, five days a week, while clients reside at home or in sober living. This level of care typically lasts one month but since treatment is individualized, some may stay longer.
After the PHP, clients step down to IOP, which involves three hours of treatment three days a week. At this phase, clients are encouraged to look for work or apply to school, if appropriate. After about six weeks of IOP, the final phase of treatment is outpatient care. This typically consists of about three or four hours a week of therapy.
Clients in all three programs receive therapeutic support that includes individual and group therapy, regular psychiatric evaluations and medication management. There are structured recreational activities and on-site 12-step meetings. Random drug tests help ensure personal accountability for relapses and provide the opportunity to reassess whether a more intensive form of treatment is needed.
The Westside staff includes psychiatrists, Master’s-level psychologists, LADCs and support staff including holistic practitioners and case managers.

Though the focus of treatment at Westside is primarily on CBT-style talk therapy, it also offers holistic activities like yoga, meditation, massage and art therapy.
Westside Treatment’s family program believes that working with the family is a critical component to helping clients recover from addiction. Family support options include weekly phone contact and/or individual family sessions.
