HIT Los Angeles Review
Holistic Integration Team (HIT) in Los Angeles is an outpatient treatment facility that provides individualized care for addiction and co-occurring disorders. Treatment can include an variety of personalized services like in-home detox, recovery monitoring, intervention services and, if needed, housing referrals for sober suites. HIT was founded by Trevis Smith, a CATC, who brings his experience of working as a detox counselor and case manager since 2006 to his clientele.
Treatment and Staff
Each client has a totally individualized treatment plan. Initially one of the treatment team members does an in-home assessment of the client and determines the level of care needed. If an intervention is necessary, family and loved ones coordinate that step with an intervention specialist. The detox process can take place in the comfort of the clients own house and a HIT medical staff member oversees the entire process to ensure the most comfortable experience possible. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) can be administered during this phase.
One of the main factors of treatment through this facility is the opportunity for clients to receive comprehensive, wrap around treatment services without the clinical setting. With this in mind, many of the sessions take place in a public place, or as previously mentioned, in the client’s home. There are several options when it comes to treatment. These can include not only the client receiving sober coaching and psychoeducation, but their family members as well. They typically have at least one individual session per week and evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) are used. There is an emphasis on vocational training and reintegration into the community, Additionally, clients can be guided and supported in joining the 12-step community.
The staff consists of LMFTs, CATCs, Master’s-level LPCs and nutritionists. There is also a board certified physician on staff who oversees detox meds and other medical services.
Extras
The sober suites are offered as an alternative to residential treatment. Each of the suites are private and fully furnished with full beds, dressers and ample storage space. Clients can work or go to school while staying at this facility and therefore are responsible for getting their own food. The suites are upscale and comfortable, and for the most part are only offered on a temporary basis, with the maximum stay about 60 days.
In Summary
Treatment at HIT Los Angeles is not just highly individualized, but different than other outpatient programs in the sense that clients are in their own homes and have that security and privacy. The staff offers several elements and layers to their treatment in order to truly have an individualized experienced that emphasizes the importance of getting back into the community with a solid support system around them.
