Located in Belleville, Pennsylvania, Belleville Residential Inpatient Treatment Center for Men is a gender-specific program for the treatment of substance abuse. Accommodations and Food
The three-story home has a total of 18 beds with a number of double and single rooms (single rooms typically reserved for clients with seniority), each equipped with twin beds, clean linens and closet space for clothes and personal affects. Common areas include a living room and dining room, a small front yard with a bench and a backyard area where clients can congregate as the weather permits.
Residents are required to assist with the upkeep of the house and are assigned weekly chores. Family visitation is permitted after counselors determine that a client is stabilized and is ready for outside interactions.

Treatment and Staff
After an initial phone assessment, clients meet with counselors to help create an individualized treatment plan. Those in need of detox will be referred to an outside agency to complete this phase of recovery before beginning treatment. Programs are offered on both short-term and long-term basis, lasting anywhere from 30 days to nine months. For clients without insurance, counselors can help secure local government financial assistance to cover treatment.
Treatment is comprised of group and individual therapy and employs evidence-based practices such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as the 12-step framework. Family therapy is available upon request. Groups meet several times a day and address topics like relapse prevention, addiction as a disease and gender-specific issues. Individual sessions are scheduled as needed. Additional support for clients with co-occurring disorders is available through the staff psychiatrist.
The organization occasionally brings in outside guest speakers and offers interactive peer groups lead by volunteers. Counselors also integrate nutritional education, life skills as well as some spirituality into the daily schedules. All clients are required to attend outside AA/NA meetings and are encouraged to find a sponsor.
Belleville’s counselors are a mixture of LCSWs and LPCs as well as a psychiatrist and nurse practitioner.
Extras
Once primary care is complete, clients are given the option of stepping down to a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), where they attend the same number of group and individual sessions as the inpatient track, but they are allowed to leave at night. This program is flexible in length and offers support as they transition back into their outside lives.
