Bon Secours Next Passage Treatment Center Review
The Bon Secours Next Passage Treatment Center is a branch of the Bon Secours Baltimore Health System, a network of hospitals and healthcare facilities located throughout the city of Baltimore offering a variety of medical and mental health services. Next Passage offers both a basic outpatient and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse and addiction that employ evidence based treatment.
Treatment and Staff
Next Passage provides substance abuse and addiction treatment with both a basic outpatient track and an IOP. Both programs implement CBT, but do not integrate the 12 steps. After an initial evaluation and assessment, clients are placed in the appropriate track depending on the severity of their situation. The basic outpatient program meets three times a week for three hour sessions and can last anywhere from 60-90 days. The IOP meets five times a week for three-hour sessions and also lasts between 60-90 days.
Both programs incorporate a combination of individual and group therapy, educational sessions and family groups. The group therapy sessions are available in both gender-specific and co-ed format. Educational sessions focus on aspects of addiction, relapse prevention and overdose prevention. Suboxone therapy is also available as necessary. All treatment is determined by each client’s individualized treatment plan, which is developed with counselors as the client progresses through the program.
The staff at New Passage consists of an MSW, a CAC-AD, LPCs and Registered Nurses.

As Next Passage is just one facility in the Bon Secours Baltimore Health System, clients will have no problem finding additional programs and resources available including the most up to date medical care, assisted living programs and in-home care. Clients may also benefit from HIV/AIDS education, smoking cessation, family education and overdose prevention programs.
