Another Chance Counseling Center Review
Founded in 1994 by Fran Conti intending to help her community by providing affordable treatment, Another Chance Counseling Center has been offering outpatient substance abuse treatment services for over two decades. Located in Winter Park, Florida just north of Orlando, ACCC offers basic counseling services, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and aftercare services, all with an emphasis in holistic treatment. Specializing in teen and family counseling services, ACCC approaches recovery using the addiction-as-disease model and uses evidence-based methods including CBT and relapse prevention in the course of treatment.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP at ACCC is highly individualized and each treatment program is tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Clients may be scheduled for individual, group or family therapy, all of which are based in CBT methodology. Group topics may cover relapse prevention, anger management, addiction education and coping skills. ACCC offers both individual and group therapy as a basic outpatient track for those who are not interested in the IOP.
ACCC also prides itself on integrating care for mental health into treatment and clients with the co-occurring disorders of trauma, anxiety and depression issues are accommodated. Holistic approaches to treatment may include mindfulness training, acupuncture, meditation, nutrition planning and alternative medicines. In addition, ACCC offers Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services including Methadone and Suboxone for cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
The staff at ACCC consists of LPCs and LADCs.
Extras
In addition to its IOP, ACCC also offers special counseling programs for teens and adolescents that focus on how age affects addiction and recovery and gives young people the opportunity to develop a sober community. In addition, a Florida Safety Council DUI counseling program is available with specific treatment for those who have a DUI or DWI offense.
An aftercare program is available for individuals who have successfully completed the treatment program and consists of one group session every two weeks and one monthly individual session.
