ACME Counseling Diversion and Rehabilitation Services Review
ACME Counseling Diversion and Rehabilitation Services is a small privately owned substance abuse facility that offers a variety of addiction treatment programs in addition to other behavioral health services. ACME is located in Corvallis, Oregon—a small Willamette Valley town about 40 miles from the Oregon coast and home to Oregon State University. The substance abuse recovery program at ACME offers basic outpatient services with a focus on group therapy using evidence-based methods of treatment.
Treatment and Staff
The substance abuse treatment program at ACME is exclusively outpatient and is entirely based in CBT methodology. An initial evaluation and assessment is done upon entering the program and a counselor develops an individualized treatment plan which includes an appropriate requirement of both frequency of therapy sessions and duration of treatment.
Group sessions are held six days a week and last anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours. Groups discuss a variety of topics including the nature of chemical dependency, relapse prevention, building self-esteem, coping methods and independent living skills. Gender-specific groups are available in addition to the co-ed groups. Individual sessions are scheduled independently and typically last for 80 minutes.
The staff at ACDRC consists of LPCs.
Extras
In addition to ACME’s substance abuse treatment program, therapeutic services are available including general mental health and illness-specific counseling. Education groups discussing how to lead a healthy life with a mental illness and treatment for problem gambling are also offered, as are services for court-mandated programs.
In Summary
ACME’s addiction treatment track is limited to basic outpatient services, but treatment is both individualized and evidence-based. With both gender-specific groups and co-ed sessions, clients discuss a variety of topics providing a balanced and thorough path to recovery.
