Mental Health Network Prescription Drug Addiction Treatment

Mental Health Network Prescription Drug Addiction Treatment

The Mental Health Network provides employees with assistance programs that improve their emotional health. That makes them different than your traditional health insurance company. MHN works in conjunction with mainstream health insurance providers to offer comprehensive mental health care, including treatment for prescription drug abuse.

About Prescription Drug Detox

It is estimated that 20 percent of the population has abused prescription drugs at some point. That adds up to about 48 million people who used prescription medication for a reason beyond what the doctor intended. The Mental Health Network provides medical intervention for those who become addicted to a drug such as Ritalin, Adderall or Daytrana.

The first step is detox. Detoxification allows the body to get used to life without this drug. It is typically painful and one the hardest parts of becoming drug free. The Mental Health Network may help ease the emotional burden of detox, but not cover the medical side; that would fall to your health insurance company.

What does the Mental Health Network Prescription Drug Detox Cover?

The Mental Health Network prescription drug detox starts with an assessment. The assistance program includes an inpatient assessment to determine the best way to help you detox. They will consult with your health insurance provider if prescription medication is needed to make detox more comfortable.

The Mental Health Network focuses on emotional health. The Behavioral Health Plan covers both inpatient and outpatient treatment options. While your health insurance may be responsible for the detox portion of your treatment, Mental Health Network will take over afterwards to help you stay off drugs. Their plan provides:

  • Outpatient assessment and counseling sessions
  • Inpatient assessment and treatment
  • Alternative care options

The alternative care options allow you to continue your treatment through partial hospitalization while you go to work or spend time with your family. The Mental Health Network program also includes intensive outpatient and residential treatment care.

Getting Treatment Authorization for Detox

The Mental Health Network does not require pre-authorization for outpatient services, but it is a good idea. The website states that some benefits may not be paid if there is not a proper pre-authorization. For hospital care, it may be necessary to get pre-authorization from both the Mental Health Network and your health insurance company.
