The Basics
Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Wise Choices Inc is the private practice of therapist Marguerite Kay Wise who provides outpatient treatment for substance abuse. Individualized plans are created for each client and include a balance of holistic and evidence-based modalities. Her practice is licensed by the state of Indiana’s Department of Mental Health as well as by the NAADAC. For those without insurance, reduced fees and other financial arrangements are available.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients undergo an initial intake session that covers family, health and substance abuse history. After intake, a treatment plan is developed.
Though length of care isn’t fixed, each plan generally consists of 16 sessions and works with recognized therapeutic methods like neurofeedback, biofeedback, CBT, DBT and hypnosis. While not every clients takes part in all therapies, Wise is trained in all areas if needed. CBT is the staple of each program, which are in the format of individual therapy. Basic support for co-occurring disorders is also offered but limited to depression, anxiety and ADHD.
Wise is a Master’s-level psychologist and LMFT who studied both social work and psychology.
Extras
Wise choices also offers marriage, family and couples therapy. This can be in addition to or apart from substance abuse treatment. Wise also works with the Department of Transportation to provide assessments for court-ordered clients. Though not required for treatment, referrals to local AA/NA meetings are also available.

Wise Choices Inc is an small facility rooted in one-on-one care and provides a solid range of evidence-based methods for treatment. This is not the average basic talk therapy approach; Wise has the education, training, experience and licensing to offer the same level of care as any outpatient facility.
