The Basics
Based out of Burbank, California, Wisdom Treatment is a broad behavioral health organization that provides flexible care plans for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Treatment plans are open to both men and women and a minimum 90-day commitment is required. In addition to its standalone outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), the facility also offers sober living housing as well.
Accommodations and Amenities
All told, the Wisdom Treatment facility has between six and eight beds available for residents at any given time in both shared and private rooms. Though the specifics of each room can vary, shared rooms include both full and queen-sized beds, bedside tables, lamps, dressers and comfortable decor. The rest of the home also boasts sleek interior design, shared lounge areas with cable TV and WiFi, on-site gym equipment, a pool and a fully-equipped kitchen. Throughout their stay, all clients are expected to cook and prepare their own meals.
Rules and Regulations
As with all sober living homes, clients are expected to obey a house behavioral contract and to remain sober throughout their stay. Residents must submit to regular and random drug tests as well. Those who need to do detox can also do so on-site. As with other sober homes, all residents are required to remain busy throughout the day either by working a job, attending school, volunteering or attending outpatient treatment. All residents are also expected to attend all relevant house meetings, do basic chores and keep common areas clean. Twelve-step participation is also required.
Extras
As mentioned, Wisdom Treatment also offers a variety of outpatient treatment options which include individual, group and family therapy with evidence-based care practices including CBT, DBT and EMDR. Group sessions cover many different issues including anger management, addiction education, criminal behavior, emotional processing and life skills. The staff includes RNS, CADCs, LCSWs and LPCs.
Other options include parenting classes, a domestic violence and battery program and programs for court-ordered clients. Culturally-specific care for Armenians and Russians is available as well. Finally, those who complete programs can also work with staff members to develop stepped down aftercare plans.
