Situated about 30 miles southeast of Austin, Texas in the small town of Bastrop, Willow Springs Recovery is an upscale residential treatment facility that specializes in the care of clients struggling with substance abuse, addiction and co-occurring disorders. Willow Springs provides personalized treatment tailored to the unique needs of the individual. The facility employs a multi-faceted approach that integrates a number of therapeutic methods including the 12 steps, medication management (when needed), evidence-based practices and holistic methods.
Accommodations and Food
Willow Springs Recovery sits on over 38 acres of serene Texas countryside. Clients are close enough to the city to remain active, and far enough removed to enjoy the solitude of country life. The residence offers spacious, upscale rooms with plenty of natural light, nice furnishings, two queen sized beds and an ensuite bathroom. Executive clients can use designated work areas that include computers, Internet and fax machines.
Residents enjoy delicious gourmet meals prepared by the on-site nutritionist and culinary team. Clients with dietary preferences and restrictions can be accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment that includes physical and mental health evaluations as well as an examination of both family and substance use history. Willow Springs does not subscribe to a “one size fits all” approach. As such, the team creates an individualized treatment plan based on the individual’s intake assessment. Many clients begin in the detox program in order to rid the body of toxins. Willow Springs offers an on-site medical detox with around-the-clock supervision by a nursing team and medications to help curb the withdrawal symptoms. Upon completion of detox, most clients transition directly into Willow Springs’ residential program.
While residential treatment typically lasts 30 days, the duration of care varies depending on the specific needs of the individual. In order to provide individualized care, Willow Springs utilizes an integrative approach that includes faith-based therapy, 12-step, SMART Recovery, holistic practices and evidence-based methods. A typical day at Willow Springs begins with morning reflection time and group therapy. From there, clients engage in various groups that focus on gender issues, addiction education, SMART Recovery, financial workshops, CBT and holistic practices like meditation, art therapy and yoga. Residents also participate in individual therapy and attend a nightly 12-step meeting.
Willow Springs’ treatment team is comprised of a multidisciplinary staff including a psychiatrist, counselors, addiction specialists, therapists, nutritionists, a nursing team, spiritual guides and an on-site chef. As previously mentioned, medication management is available for clients with co-occurring disorders.
Willow Springs believes physical activity is an integral component to recovery success. Residents go hiking and swimming, and are encouraged to work out whenever they have free time. There are plenty of amenities to enjoy including a first-class gym, pool, volleyball court, tennis court and ping pong table.
Aftercare is an important component to the success of a sustainable, long-term recovery. In addition to an extensive outpatient program, Willow Springs helps clients connect with local AA and NA networks as well as counselors and psychiatrists.
Willow Springs Recovery offers upscale inpatient care for adults struggling with alcohol and substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders. Its integrative approach synchronizes therapy, peer support and holistic treatment. For men and women seeking a premier detox and residential facility with comprehensive programming and a talented staff, Willow Springs Recovery is a solid option.
