Accommodations and Amenities

While the address is unlisted for privacy’s sake, the Willow House is situated in the quiet suburbs of St. Louis. With a maximum capacity of six women, the facility places a premium on both privacy and a tight-knit sober community. Residents enjoy a computer room with internet, a large TV, a washer and dryer as well as a meditation room.

Willow House fosters a family atmosphere where residents are treated as guests, rather than “clients” and “staff.” A fun sober environment is an essential aspect of the success of a sustainable, long-lasting recovery. As such, the guests regularly have family-style community dinners, game nights and go out at night. In addition, the team offers help with employment and educational opportunities.

Rules and Regulations

In order to qualify for admittance, residents must be 21 or older, be sober for 30 straight days and undergo an interview process with the Willow House staff. Individuals must also be at the minimum seeking employment, though preferably working or going attending school. Persons with a criminal background, specifically including violence, are not permitted in the program. Many residents transition directly from a residential program. The women are required to participate in weekly house meetings to discuss challenges both with recovery as well as inside the home. Random drug testing is performed and curfews are expected to be obeyed.

Upon admission, the Willow House team creates an individualized plan for recovery that includes a life plan, the 12-step method and relapse prevention techniques. Residents must be active in 12-step, attending regular meetings and working with a sponsor.
