White House Recovery Centers is a residential treatment facility located in beautiful and exotic Escazu, Costa Rica. It offers luxury accommodations and comprehensive programming for addiction and co-occurring disorders. Treatment includes holistic approaches combined with traditional methods, medication management, 12-step support, Neurotherapy, relapse prevention and extensive skills training. White House also offers on-site detox—all within the confines of a private, upscale, resort-style campus.
Accommodations and Food
White House sits atop the slopes of the Pico Blanco mountainside surrounded by breathtaking views. There are 13 guest rooms divided amongst the suites and two villas. Clients share bedrooms that are furnished with king and queen beds made out of hand carved wood and topped with double pillow top mattresses. Clients enjoy en suite bathrooms, fireplaces and panoramic views from the room’s balconies. The villas also offer personal kitchens, living room spaces and outdoor seating areas.
There is a gourmet restaurant on site where the executive chef prepares all the meals with the assistance of a nutritionist. After consulting clients, they make food with the nutritional value along with a variation of cuisine styles. A sample menu contains fresh seafood, soup of the day, steaks and chops, and a variety of salad options, pastas, burgers, sandwiches, and made to order breakfast selections.
Treatment and Staff
There are a few different treatment tracks clients can take at White House: a traditional detox, a holistic style detox, and a residential treatment program. A medical staff guides the detox process. They oversee the entire process to ensure the safest and most comfortable experience possible. The other detox process is through the use of Ibogaine, which is a cutting edge natural medicine found in plants. This is primarily for clients who are in need of detox from opiates, though it has been used in several studies to help clients with diseases of the brain, like Parkinsons and Alzheimers.
Once they establish stabilization, clients step into the residential phase of programming. It consists of daily therapy in group and individual settings, medical evaluations and assistance through medication management for dual diagnosis clients. The curriculum also incorporates nutritional counseling, relapse prevention, coping skills, and holistic treatments including neurotherapy.
During the 30 to 90 day stay at White House Recovery Centers, clients address trauma, anger management and relationships using evidence-based approaches like DBT and EMDR, along with psychoeducation. The treatment team also integrates elements of the 12 steps.
Dr. Cicchetti founded White House Recovery Centers in 2016. It provides innovative treatments within a private setting. Staff includes LPCs, CADCs, psychiatrists and other Master’s-level therapists.
The resort includes a helicopter pad, golf course, juice bars, a pool and jacuzzi and clients get a membership with Worlds Gym. Pets can accompany clients during treatment, and private executive tracks are also an option.
The on-site salt spa offers massage, mud wraps, acupuncture and acupressure, reflexology, Yoga, Tai Chi, facials and beauty treatments.
Family counseling and aftercare is included in treatment. This usually resembles regular follow ups, monitoring and attending support meetings through Al-Anon.
White House Recovery Centers offer the highest level of luxury in an exotic and beautiful part of the world. There is a feeling of family and a tight knit community within the facilities walls, which helps clients flourish and feel safe. White House delivers excellent services, recreation, spa experiences and comprehensive, client focused care.
