Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Inpatient Review
Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare is an extensive behavioral health organization with nearly 50 locations throughout Southeast Wisconsin. Aside from its outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), the facility also offers inpatient treatment for children, adolescents and adults at its All Saints and St. Francis locations in Racine and Milwaukee.
Accommodations and Food
All Saints has 16 adult and 17 combined adolescent/children beds for mental health and addiction treatment, whereas St. Francis has 24 beds for adults only. Because both facilities are full-service hospitals, which can also provide detox when necessary. Inpatient stays are generally short-term and feature basic hospital-style accommodations with both shared and private rooms available. Clients are served three meals a day through the hospital cafeteria. Accommodations for special diets is available upon request.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial intake and assessment, clients work with staff members to develop an individualized treatment plan. As mentioned, those in need of a medical detox can do so on-site and will begin attending therapy as soon as they are stabilized. Treatment plans consist of individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, such as CBT and DBT, with additional psychiatric support and medication management available for clients with co-occurring disorders. Family therapy is also available upon request. Groups address a range of topics including self-esteem building, self-improvement, goal-setting, relapse prevention and discharge planning. Clients also learn the basic principles of the 12 steps and are encouraged to attend off-site meetings.
The staff is extensive and includes MDs, RNs, psychologists, psychiatrists, LACs, LPCs, CADCs and further Master’s and PhD-level clinicians.

The facility also has several outpatient programs in a range of intensities that can be used as an aftercare option.
