The Basics
Western Pacific Med Corp is a mental health facility with a network of 11 locations throughout the Los Angeles basin, Orange County and Ventura County. The program includes Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and general outpatient services that are cost-effective for clients in need of affordable treatment. Locations include Fullerton, Glendale, Lancaster, North Hollywood, Norwalk, Panorama City, Reseda, Stanton, Van Nuys and Ventura. Funding for services is provided by Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County and the State of California.
Treatment and Staff
Western Pacific Med Corp uses evidence-based treatment to assist clients in their recovery needs. Utilizing CBT and individualized treatment methods,Western Pacific Med Corp offers clients a personalized experience that addresses co-occurring disorders.
Prior to enrolling, clients must come to a facility ready for a two- to three-hour assessment. Walk-ins for the assessment process are from 5 to 9 am on weekdays. The assessment process determines the unique needs of each client and the best means of assisting them. Urinalysis is taken as well as any insurance information.
Two programs are available with different lengths. The MAT/detox program is 21 days total and requires clients to attend services every day of the week. Clients are prescribed methadone by a physician who specializes in addiction medicine. Dosing times are from 5 am to 12 pm daily, and clients are only allowed to miss three days of dosing—if more than three days of dosing are missed, that client will be discharged. Clients can re-enroll in the detox program a maximum of two times in a year. Failure to comply with Western Pacific’s requirements can result in a refusal of services.
The maintenance program includes daily dosing alongside therapeutic interventions and can last from a month to a year depending on the client’s ability to pay and remain accountable to a program. Clients take regular drug tests and see their counselors for individual therapy two times per month. Therapeutic activities are led by CADCs. In addition to attending individual sessions, clients are encouraged to attend community 12-step meetings to create a peer support network.
Extras
WPMC is a very focused and specialized program with MAT and general therapeutic services. Clients requiring more intensive treatment programs or social services are given referrals to trusted facilities.
