The Basics
Located in Pikeville, Kentucky, WestCare Kentucky Pike County Community Involvement Center is a community-oriented facility that provides outpatient treatment to men and women in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. The facility is owned and operated by WestCare Kentucky, which has additional locations throughout the state.
Treatment and Staff
Upon arrival, clients undergo an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop individualized treatment plans. WestCare does not currently facilitate detox. Though specifics may vary, each program includes individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices, such as CBT and DBT. Groups cover an introduction to 12-step concepts, addiction as a disease, relapse prevention, vocational skill building and other related topics. While those with less severe co-occurring disorders are welcome, clients with a dual diagnosis are encouraged to seek additional help outside of the program.
The staff consists of CADCs, LCSWs and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Clients can add couples and family therapy sessions on to treatment plans as necessary. Other standalone services include DUI/DWI assessments and screenings. Those in need of aftercare can step down the intensity of their program to suit their needs.
