WestCare Kentucky Hal Rogers Appalachian Recovery Center Review
Based out of Ashcamp, Kentucky, WestCare Kentucky Hal Rogers Appalachian Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility for men in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Accommodations and Food
The Hal Rogers facility has a total of 88 beds available for men in dorm-style rooms shared between between residents. Each comes with twin beds, dressers and shared closet space. The facility also includes common living areas with couches and TV, on-site laundry and a full kitchen. Throughout their stay, clients are served three square meals a day.
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help the staff develop individualized treatment plans. While the specifics of each plan may vary, all clients are required to stay for a minimum of 90 days.
Throughout the program clients attend both individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices, such as CBT and DBT. Groups cover lessons on technical and vocational skills, HIV/AIDS education, parenting classes, life skills and addiction as a disease. The program is also 12-step based, with clients required to attend regular AA/NA meetings. While some dual diagnosis support may be available for issues like depression and anxiety, those in need of more extensive care may need to seek outside support.
The staff at Hal Rogers Appalachian Recovery Center consists of LCSWs, CADCs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
In addition to the above, the facility also has an on-site, non-denominational chapel where residents can pray or meditate. The organization also provides DUI assessments and classes for court-ordered clients, as well as standalone counseling services and family therapy. Clients in need of aftercare can attend stepped-down outpatient therapy through one of WestCare Kentucky’s other facilities.
