Westwind Recovery Residences offers luxury sober living in the exciting Hollywood and West Hollywood areas of Los Angeles. With residences at Sycamore, Laurel Canyon, Normandie and—soon—Cahuenga, Westwind not only provides lavish perks for their clients, but also a safe and healthy environment to ease the transition from rehab to a sober and happy life.
Accommodations and Amenities
While all of the Westwind residences provide the same quality of service and sober environment, the luxuries and amenities vary from house to house. The most upscale of the houses, Sycamore House, offers private rooms with full size beds, TVs in every room with Netflix and HBO, a heated pool and Jacuzzi on site, a home office, second floor balconies, a large backyard, a poolside gazebo and sitting area and is even pet friendly. The Laurel Canyon House has paths and walkways for strolling the grounds, private patios for meditation, an active garden and both single and double rooms. The Normandie House offers private patios, a yoga studio, a fire pit and a pool table as well as a foosball table.
Regardless of which luxuries suit the client best, every house provides private or double rooms, high speed WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, a washer and dryer, convenient parking, unlimited coffee, gym memberships, storage space and a dedicated full time staff. However, all clients are responsible for buying groceries and making their own meals.
Rules and Regulations
Between 10 am and 11 pm, residents work, go to school, go to meetings, volunteer and participate in other activities. If a specific activity interferes with curfew, they will make exceptions. The curfew during the first 30 days is 11 pm on weeknights and 12 am on the weekends and can be extended after the first 30 days. For the first month, clients are required to stay at Westwind every night to build a routine. After that, overnight stays elsewhere are allowed with advance notice.
Weekly individual therapy sessions with a licensed therapist and relapse prevention workshops are required, along with several weekly in-house meetings. The 24/7 on-site staff provides transportation to any appointment or to 12-step meeting, helps with overall case management and assists the client with goal setting and tracking during their stay. There are also random drug tests three times a week.
If clients relapse, they are discharged from the house immediately. Readmittance will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Continuous relapses may require inpatient treatment and the staff can recommend an appropriate program, after which the clients will be eligible to return to Westwind.
Extras
In addition to the upscale amenities each house offers, there are extra perks and services. Clients have access to one-on-one personal training sessions with a certified personal trainer and free yoga classes. There are also planned events and outings such as day trips and concerts.
