The Basics
Located in the LA suburb of Tarzana, California, West Valley Counseling is a multi-faceted behavioral health organization that provides flexible treatment to clients struggling with mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Treatment and Staff

Groups cover many topics including stress management, wellness, parenting skills, emotional processing, trigger identification and relapse prevention.
The staff at West Valley Counseling includes psychologists, LMFTs, LCSWs, interns and additional Master’s and PhD-level counselors.

The organization also offers a three-day intensive workshop called Life in Transition, often for clients who have recently experienced a major loss, trauma or who are struggling with grief. As mentioned, family counseling is also available. Specific counseling services for LGBTQ clients are offered as well. Other services include domestic violence counseling, Spanish-speaking services, career counseling, groups for at-risk teens, anger management sessions, parenting classes and prenatal support. Finally, those who complete a program can also work with staff to develop stepped down aftercare plans.
