The Basics
Located about 40 miles north of Chicago, in Gurnee, Illinois, Weckler and Associates is an outpatient counseling facility with flexible treatment programs for addiction. Although many clients attend as a result of a DUI/DWI charge, Weckler also offers standalone substance abuse treatment in the form of outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Weckler and Associates has been providing residents of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin with treatment programs for more than 20 years.
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, clients go through an initial intake and assessment so that an individualized treatment plan can be created. Though programs vary, both outpatient and IOP include individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including CBT. Groups cover topics such as addiction as a disease, anger management and 12-step principles. Participants are also strongly encouraged to attend off-site AA/NA meetings.
Staff consists of CADCs, LPCs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Aftercare is available in the form of outpatient care at a stepped down frequency that focuses on relapse prevention strategies.
Additional services include DUI programs with state-certified evaluations and assessments, risk education classes and early intervention. Standalone individual and group counseling services for addiction are also available.
