Accommodations and Amenities
Wavelengths Recovery has sober living homes throughout Huntington Beach with a total of 74 beds available. In general, each house can accommodate five to eight clients in both private and semi-private rooms. Each of the satellite residences are in close proximity to the day treatment facility. Though the specifics vary, each home comes with shared living areas with cable TV, on-site laundry, patios with seaside vistas and spacious kitchens.
Each house is also staffed by professional house managers. The homes also have staff members who do grocery shopping for each home and help residents develop meal plans. Lunches are generally served at the day treatment facility.
Rules and Regulations
Throughout their stay, participants typically attend outpatient treatment in conjunction with housing—this can either be through Wavelengths Recovery or another nearby provider. For those attending treatment through the organization, days typically start at 9:30 am and include group and individual therapy with evidence-based care including CBT. In addition to dual diagnosis support and medication management, programming also incorporates holistic treatment like yoga, meditation and martial arts classes.
Regular 12-step participation is required. Those not attending concurrent outpatient therapy are expected to volunteer, go to school or work a full-time job. All residents are expected to do chores and to submit to regular and random drug tests.
Extras
In addition to sober living, Wavelengths Recovery also provides a short-term residential program which includes detox services. As an added bonus, the organization also has a juicing program where a juicing specialist comes in to create healthy juices to supplement the clients’ diets.
