The Basics
Warnecke Professional Counseling is comprised of two facilities in the state of Georgia, one in Roswell and the second in Marietta. Both locations make up the WPC network that was started in 2008 by Andrew Warnecke. Working with Master’s-level practitioners and trainees who are working towards receiving credentials, clients enrolled in treatment at WPC participate in individual and group therapy, specialty groups and have access to a DUI program. All services are on an outpatient basis, with services for co-occurring disorders available.
Treatment and Staff
WPC employs a total of 11 therapists and counselors who each utilize their own preferred techniques in treatment. In general, staff employ evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT. Each client receives an individualized treatment plan outlining their unique needs and acuity upon a primary assessment, an essential component to treatment at WPC. If it is apparent that the client requires detox or more intensive treatment, referrals are given to a trusted community resource.
The DUI program is designed for both first-time and multiple offenders. In order to qualify for reinstatement of their license, they must complete three steps: first, clients must finish a 20-hour psychoeducation program focused on reducing the risk of recidivism and on educating about the risks of active addiction and excessive use. The second requirement is an evaluation by a state-certified evaluator which determines where the client falls on the risk spectrum for addiction. The third requirement is treatment. Clients wishing to pursue treatment through an outside source are given referrals.
Regular outpatient clients with chemical dependency are primarily treated through individual sessions. Special groups are available including an Adult Adoptee Support Group, Postpartum Depression Support Group, Stress and Anxiety Support Group and a Support Group for Managing Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, and Psychological Well-being. Chemical dependency clients are welcome to attend these specialty groups if they apply to their needs. Dual diagnosis support is also available for those struggling with co-occurring mental health issues.
All treatment is facilitated by Master’s-level practitioners with credentials that include LMFTs, LPCs and CADACs.
Extras
While WPC offers services focused upon the individual and their needs, clients may request family therapy sessions to supplement their recovery process. The family can be integral to the individual’s recovery, and WPC staff understands that additional therapy can support the healing of all parties involved.
