The facility has 36-beds and clients should expect to share a room with at least one other resident. Bedrooms come furnished with basic necessities including dressers, single beds and shared closet space. Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment and intake, clients work with staff members to develop individualized treatment plans. Those in need can undergo medical detox on-site before continuing on to primary care. Treatment consists of individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, and for clients addicted to opiates/opioids, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is also an option. Treatment may or may not include 12-step principles—generally, this varies by court-ordered stipulations. Recreational and family therapy may also be added as needed.
For clients with a dual diagnosis, additional medical and psychiatric nursing services, as well as medication management, are available.
Staff consists of LCSWs, psychiatrists, RNs, CACs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
As a state-operated program, priority is granted to severe cases and pregnant women. The latter can attend a special perinatal program that allows new mothers to bring their children (up to 12 months old) with them to treatment.
While Walter B. Jones doesn’t offer aftercare, referrals to other programs within North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services can be made for those seeking continuing care.
