The Basics
Hobe Sound, Florida’s Voyage Recovery Center is a gender-specific treatment facility for men that offers a variety of intensive treatment services including a residential track and step-down outpatient treatment in the form of either an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or standard outpatient. Programming consists of individual and group therapy aligned with 12-step support and some faith-based approaches. Treatment is offered to young adult males who are dealing with substance abuse and dual diagnosis issues through a collaborative and supportive treatment experience.
Treatment and Staff
The outpatient treatment tracks can serve as a step-down program to the residential phase as they offer regular structure and ongoing support while the client lives at home and works. The IOP is a three day a week program that runs Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays in the evenings for up to three hours. These times are dedicated to group sessions while individual sessions are set up at separate times at the client’s convenience.
Programming is made up of evidence-based modalities and regular AA meetings and assignments. Treatment approaches include CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care and the Family Systems. Clients also receive a psychiatric evaluation at the beginning of treatment, which can lead to medication management and therapy aimed specifically at co-occurring disorders.
These treatment tracks are all individualized and based off of the initial assessment that clients have before beginning their programs. The clinical team assesses progress regularly and works with the clients in a collaborative fashion so that all the bases and needs are covered. Regular drug and alcohol screenings are included in treatment and serves as a way to monitor clients progressions.
The treatment team is made up of experienced addiction therapists along with nurses and a medical director.
Extras
In addition to therapeutic services the staff at Voyage can also offer case management assistance like help navigating the legal aspect of court appearances, probation, family court or DUIs. There is also vocational placement assistance or help getting clients to continue on with their educations.
The family therapy is an integral part of the success of Voyages clients, so the facility offers intensive counseling services and referrals local resources like Al-Anon support meetings or other treatment agencies. Counseling for families can be done in a group or individual setting.

The outpatient programs through Voyage Recovery Center can either pick up with the clients left off in the residential track, or simply start one’s journey into recovery. There are a number of elements and experiences clients participate in during treatment, all of which takes the clients specific needs into account and focuses them on remaining in sobriety. Treatment is provided by a caring staff who emphasize the importance of a community feeling while participating in these programs, which forms a cohesive and secure bond.
