Since 1971, Vitality Unlimited has been one of Nevada’s primary providers of alcohol and drug abuse with both residential and outpatient tracks, education, intervention, detox, counseling and aftercare services for both adults and adolescents. While there are five outpatient treatment facilities in the state of Nevada, Vitality’s adult residential treatment program is located in the city of Elko, as is its adolescent facility.
The mission of Vitality Unlimited is to create new paths and better lives for those suffering from substance abuse problems and to promote positive life choices, improve their quality of life and help reduce the number of people who become dependent on drugs and alcohol.
Accommodations and Food
Vitality Unlimited is located in the city of Elko, on the Humbolt River. In the adult residential treatment facility, there are 15 beds for men and 13 beds in another building for women, creating gender-specific housing. There are also beds set aside for detox. The adolescent facility is has seven beds for boys and six for girls. All residential programs have a commercial kitchen and a culinary area for clients to use, though meals are prepared and served by staff.
Treatment and Staff
The Vitality Unlimited program is individualized and specializes in treating clients with co-occurring disorders disorders. Treatment is highly structured and includes at least 45 hours a week of therapy. The length of stay varies, depending on the client and their unique needs. In addition to detox, Vitality provides detailed intake assessments, individual, group and family therapy, DUI assessments, drug testing and medication management. Clients are highly encouraged to attend 12-step meetings.
The staff at Vitality Unlimited includes licensed counselors and therapists, a medical doctor and a registered nurse. All other staff are CADCs. The counselors at Vitality Unlimited are experienced in working with families or employers who are attempting interventions. Part of the recovery plan is to work closely with the families during and after treatment.
Extras
Vitality Unlimited provides services beyond residential treatment, especially for those needing additional help to sustain a sober life. Employment assistance programs, mental health services, transitional housing, affordable housing for disabled persons, multi-family low-income housing and family services are all available. For those needing extra support once they’ve completed residential treatment, there are several outpatient facilities around Nevada.
Vitality not only serves Nevada residents, but clients from California, Oregon, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico.
