ViewPoint Rehab Center Review
Founded in 2014, the ViewPoint Rehab Center has been offering co-ed 12-step based substance abuse treatment out of its private inpatient center outside Albuquerque, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. View Point offers residential stays of 30, 60 and 90 days that utilize individual and group therapy, as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Accommodations and Food
The ViewPoint facility is a family-style home spans 4,200 square feet. ViewPoint residential usually accommodates only five to seven clients at a time and can take one to two in detox. Most clients share bedrooms, while the master bedroom holds three. Clients cook all meals for themselves, usually two taking care of each meal and alternating. Clients write up a grocery list and staff buys food for the house, the cost of which is all included in cost of stay. All meals are eaten communally.
Treatment and Staff
Detox at ViewPoint may last seven to 10 days. Clients may choose to take part in acu-detox and salt baths. The View Point inpatient program offers group Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm. Saturday mornings are reserved for off-site AA/NA meetings (to which staff transports clients) while outings happen on afternoons and evenings. Sunday is for family education therapy and visiting hours in the afternoon.
Clients get one on one sessions with their counselor at least once a week but usually two to three, depending on need. They may also choose to attend morning meditation. The facility is supervised by staff 24/7. Clients only have to bring their own (approved) hygiene products and four to five days of clothing, while all else is provided.
Client in IOP set their own schedule, usually at three hours per day, as many times a week as they want. View Point employs a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, acupuncturist, personal trainer and two resident assistants as well as licensed substance abuse counselors. Most View Point staff has been in recovery.
Extras
On Thursday nights they are invited to take part in the on-site Big Book study with alumni. Typically, five to six alumni come and the current clients and alums all make and have dinner together.
In Summary
While the ViewPoint Rehab is a young organization, the array of its services is quite well-rounded. While ViewPoint accepts most insurance it offers a self-pay option which may be a good option for those not covered. The all inclusive one-time cost offers detox, residential treatment—including all outings—and lifetime attendance to the IOP.
