Treatment and Staff
The View Heights Convalescent Hospital is a 163 bed licensed skilled nursing facility that specializes in the care of adults with chronic mental illness and co-occurring disorders. For mild behavioral health issues, View Heights offers a “wellness and recovery” outpatient treatment approach, where staff creates customized care plans tailored to the specific needs of the individual. Treatment plans are created on the client’s first visit, based on the results of an intake assessment, and address client’s psychological, physical and spiritual needs. The skilled nursing facility offers a safe, secure environment with around-the-clock medical supervision, state-of-the-art security and a top-notch staff.
With 163 beds, View Heights provides short-term care for clients with a range of mental illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, trauma, cognitive and mood disorders. The comprehensive treatment approach includes assessment, medication recommendations and management, crisis intervention and social work services to help access outside community resources. In addition, the facility provides individualized nutrition counseling, individual and group therapy. Treatment length varies depending on the specific needs of the client, but typically lasts between two and three days. Since View Heights offers primarily outpatient-based therapy and psychiatric care, 12-step recovery is not a component in the programming.
The View Heights Inter-Disciplinary Treatment Team (IDT) is comprised of a resident’s physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, LCSWs, dieticians, Master’s-level counselors, therapists and a nursing team.
View Heights offers access to experts like physical, speech and recreational therapists on an as-needed basis.
