Victory Clinical ServicesThe Basics

With locations in Kalamazoo, Jackson, Saginaw and Lansing, Michigan as well as one in South Bend, Indiana, Victory Clinical Services is an expansive organization which provides Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the form of methadone dosing with concurrent outpatient treatment. All of its programs are state-licensed and CARF-accredited with individualized care for each client.

Treatment and Staff

Before beginning treatment, individuals go through an initial assessment to help staff members determine their needs. While an inpatient detox program is not available, most of what the organization provides could be considered an ambulatory detox program for opiate users. Still, those in need of more intensive care can get referrals as necessary.

While the specifics of treatment may vary by individual and location, each program typically includes both morning and afternoon dosing times along with individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT. While 12-step participation is not strictly required, it is strongly encouraged. Group sessions cover addiction education, relapse prevention and case management related issues. Dual diagnosis support is not available.

The staff at Victory Clinical Services consists of physicians, CSACs, RNs and additional Master’s-level counselors.

Extras

Other services include HIV/HCV screenings, treatment support during pregnancy and standalone substance abuse assessments. Those who need assistance coming off of methadone can also attend the organization’s equivalent of stepped down aftercare program designed to do so.

In Summary

Overall, Victory Clinical Services is a fairly niche option for those coming off opiates and in need of counseling in addition to MAT. Treatment is evidence-based and includes medical oversight and flexible scheduling. Though it may not suit everyone’s needs, Victory Clinical Services remains a worthy option for those in early recovery from opiate abuse.

  1. Jackson facility is completely overcrowded, nurses and counselors treat patients rudely, and unfairly. Facility bathrooms and waiting areas are never cleaned and disgusting. With all the clients they have no money gets put back into the facility or programs. Worst thing is how they treat you for being an addict though.
