Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, Vilmar Health is an expansive behavioral health organization with comprehensive treatment plans for clients struggling with eating disorders and related issues. In addition to its outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), the organization also offers housing at its soon-to-open Casita del Mar. The facility can be used as a sober living home in conjunction with outpatient care or as a residential treatment program.
Accommodations and Food
All told, the Casita del Mar can host a total of 12 residents in shared and private rooms. The home is comfortable with modern decor and each bedroom has twin beds with comforters, dressers, carpeted floors and shared closet space. In addition to the bedrooms, the home also has shared common areas with cable TV and internet, a grassy backyard and a spacious and well-appointed kitchen. Throughout their stay, clients are served three meals a day with the help of on-staff chefs and nutritionists.
Treatment and Staff
Before a program begins, all participants go through an intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their care plans. While on-site detox is not provided, those in need can get referrals when necessary. While the treatment plans vary depending on the intensity of each program, all include individual and group therapy with evidence-based treatment practices including DBT, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR.
Group sessions cover nutritional counseling, yoga, emotional processing, grief, healthy body image, psychodrama and psychoeducation. Care plans include supervised meals, restaurant outings and snacks as well. Programs include dual diagnosis support and trauma-informed care whenever necessary.
The staff at Viamar Health consists of RDs, LDNs, LMFTs, psychiatrists, psychologists, yoga teachers, chefs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Other services include creative healing groups covering journalling, art therapy and related methods. Standalone nutritional education programs are also offered in addition to treatment. Family and couples therapy are also available. Finally, once clients complete a program they can work with staff members to develop stepped down aftercare plans as necessary.
Overall, Viamar Health’s residential treatment facility Casita del Mar is a well-rounded program with evidence-based care, holistic approaches and nutritional support as well. Care plans are available in a range of intensities with the Casita del Mar facility serving as a central hub for these programs. Though the cost of these programs may vary by each client’s insurance, Viamar Health’s residential and sober living plans remain a strong resource for those in the area.
