Generally speaking, the programs provided are all-encompassing—in addition to individual and group therapy with evidence-based methods like CBT and DBT for addiction, clients also learn a variety of life and coping skills to help them in the real world. To that end, other services provided include vocational assistance, financial counseling and flexible case management. The program is 12-step based and also includes limited support for dual diagnosis issues like depression and anxiety. Lengths of stay in the program are flexible and vary by client.
The staff at Veterans Outreach Center consists of case managers, art therapists, LCSWs, CASACs, RNs and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
The organization offers housing assistance for those finishing primary care as well as stepped down outpatient sessions as a form of aftercare. Some holistic methods including art therapy are also included. Additionally, Veterans Outreach Center facilitates a special “Battle Buddy” track, a peer-to-peer mentoring program which connects veterans together to aid in the healthy transition back into civilian life.
