The Basics
Founded by brothers Jeremy and Darron Boberg in 2012, Utah Addiction Centers provides residential and outpatient treatment in Eagle Mountain, Utah—a small city 30 miles west of Provo. Jeremy Boberg is an LCSW with additional certifications in treating sex and other co-occurring addictions and mental health issues as well as experience in treating PTSD and mood disorders. Darron Broberg has a business background in management and healthcare administration. In addition to substance abuse, UAC treats sex and gambling addictions as well as eating disorders. Treatment incorporates both evidence-based and experimental modalities for a holistic approach to healing from addiction.
Treatment and Staff
After an assessment, clients receive a treatment plan that may include treatment at either the standard level or the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Clients may attend group therapy anywhere from one to five times each week and individual therapy as-needed. Treatment typically lasts at least eight weeks. UAC prides itself on creating customized treatment plans that are highly responsive to the client’s progress in treatment.
The treatment team includes LCSWs and a physician certified to provide Suboxone for opioid addicts. The team is able to treat co-occurring disorders and specializes in treating multiple addictions. Therapy uses Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT and EMDR and groups have an average of 12 participants. Clients are also asked to attend 12-step meetings outside of treatment, the frequency determined by their needs and progress.
Extras
The treatment team works with each client to create a customized aftercare program that may include on-going group and individual therapy and/or peer support meetings. Clients can also invite family members to their individual therapy sessions if they think it would be beneficial.
Additionally, Equine therapy is available on the facility’s ranch-like grounds.
