The Basics
Serving Trenton, New Jersey since 1961 United Progress, Inc. Trenton Treatment Center provides outpatient substance abuse treatment and detox exclusively to adults and adolescents with co-occurring disorders. TTC’s main program has the goal of providing affordable and accessible care, utilizing the 12-step principles.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at TTC begins with an individual assessment, and for those struggling with opioid dependence can begin treatment with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) using methadone. Detox at TTC may last either 21 or 90 days, and those who need to continue with methadone maintenance may stay on indefinitely. Dosage frequency is determined by each individual’s level of need.
Supportive counseling is scheduled daily and clients are expected to participate several times per week, especially if detoxing from severe opioid use. For those who proceed into outpatient treatment, TTC arranges for an individualized combination of individual, group therapy and medication management. Clients typically participate in group sessions three hours a day, three times a week. The specially designed dual diagnosis support program expects nine or more hours of attendance per week for adult clients and six or more hours per week for adolescents.
TTC staff consists of a Master’s-level therapists and a number of licensed clinicians.
Extras
TTC clients also have access to marital and family counseling, psychiatric and psychological evaluations as well as brief solution-focused psychotherapy, community education and consultation services. For those requiring more intensive treatment or services beyond the scope of TTC, referrals are given to outside treatment facilities and resources. TTC also offers educational groups for DUI offenders and substance abuse testing.
