Treatment and Staff
CAS provides walk-in care for crisis clients struggling with an array of mental illnesses, substance use disorders and developmental disabilities. Individuals undergo thorough screenings by both physicians and psychiatrists. From there, a plan of action is designed that meets the need of the individual. CAS is a triage unit, and many clients receive emergency psychiatric evaluations, stabilization and medically assisted detox. In the case of detox, CAS uses substitute medications like methadone and Suboxone to help ease the pain of withdrawal symptoms. In addition to emergency services, CAS can facilitate interventions, counseling and case management. Clients are assessed regularly both by nurses and LMHCs, and receive both medical and substance use consultations. The facility offers individual and family therapy as well as extensive discharge planning that includes referrals to community services. In cases of clients with extensive needs, CAS can perform involuntary transfers.
